SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Friendly, Mobile Friendly, Customer Friendly
When building your website I like to think of myself as one of your customers. What do your customers want/need to see on your website? What will get them to walk in the door? What will get them to make that phone call? What will get them to place that order?
When I started this website design I had one big theme in mind. When you are hungry, nothing should stand between you and your food!
That is the concept I designed and built their website on. To create a high-quality website, I have to think like one of Raja's Tandoor's customers. Their customers expect the website to be SEO (Search Engine Optimization) friendly, mobile-friendly, & customer-friendly. SEO friendly so the potential customers can Google them quickly. Mobile friendly so their potential customers can find them quickly while on the run. Customer-friendly so their potential customers can find the info they need quickly.
Starting off their website had to be mobile friendly and customer-friendly. Why? Most people now are using smartphones and tablets when looking at your website. Even more for food as they are deciding where to eat, usually at work, school, while driving, basically on the go! The website adjusts to any screen size without loss of information. The texts and images adjust to any screen size so no need to squint. Their website loads fast, so no need to wait. Uses images that load fast but still high quality. Uses the right number of images to show off the food but still keep the website mobile friendly. Customers still see the yummy foods! There is a saying a picture is worth a thousand words. In a mobile world, just a few high-quality, fast-loading images are worth over 1000 high-quality videos and pictures that never load or take so long that the customers quit the site. The latter is not a saying, but I think it should be.
Easy website navigation means limiting the user's taps/clicks to just one or two. On small screens or any screens customers need not click on the menu inside the menu inside the menu inside the menu (NOT a typo) to get to what they need. So I limited it to one or two taps/clicks. Get to the information you need in less time.
The customer-friendliness went beyond just fewer clicks or loading fast. Since I managed their catering marketing, I knew that their customers did not like the old method of catering and did not like the old catering website. With their old catering menu, they forced their customers to choose from three packages. These packages did not always meet the exact needs of all their customers. It forced the customers to choose a package that met some of their needs or walk away!
Their old website also did not have pictures of the foods, so they were not sure what they were ordering. Knowing all this, I changed their catering process. I got rid of the packages. So now the customers can choose exactly what they need. I also organized the catering page into steps so it was easy for the customers to follow the process. Many customers in the past had questions about how much each tray served or if they were ordering enough food. They did not want to order too much or too little. So instead of per tray pricing, I introduced per person per dish pricing. So now all food items are per person per dish. With the new method we portion each dish for one person, usually 8 oz. This way the customers just need to enter the number of people they were ordering food for. No more confusion on how much food is in each tray or can this tray serve X number of people. I also put large pictures of each dish so the customers knew what their foods looked like. Easy to follow. Easy to understand.
To make Raja’s Tandoor customer experience flawless, we organize their website based on each of the services they provide. Starting from their home page or landing on any of their services pages from a search engine, customers can find exactly what they need quickly and easily. Buffet, takeout/a la carte menu, catering, each of the services all have a dedicated page. Their customers can quickly and easily find what they need. No need to get lost in their entire menu when you’re searching for only their catering menu.
From the beginning I built Raja’s Tandoor website SEO friendly. From the beginning, I inserted the right search terms on their website. Since I handled all their copywriting and SEO research. Thinking like their customer, I researched the keywords and long-tail keywords the customers would use. I also researched their competitors' websites to see what search terms to use.
Being a Small Business Marketing Consultant and not just another copy & paste website designer, I offer a full 360-degree view instead of just a website design view. Raja's Tandoor could depend on me to look over everything needed to create their successful website instead of having to gather all the information they needed from various sources. I ensured that the right images were being created, redesigned the logo, wrote the Raja's Tandoor story (copywriting), took into consideration previous customer issues and more. The result is a website that gets Raja's Tandoor, more customers, and more sales!
In organic search engine results Raja's Tandoor now comes up on the first page, above all their competitors for the keywords Raja's Tandoor customers search for. Customers rave about how easy it is to use. Especially their catering quotation process, which is now simple to navigate. Combing their new website I created with the various marketing services I offer, their catering business has doubled each year. Because of our marketing, Raja’s Tandoor buffet and takeout orders also increased.
